What’s Your Process?

That’s a question I get asked quite a bit. It’s funny, because each book has been different. I may sit down with just a basic idea of what I want to write and let the story develop organically or I may map out each chapter with a very detailed flow of the story. With Recipe for Love, I wrote primarily during the day. I wasn’t working at the time and spent my days in front of the computer. The entire day. Day in and day out. You get the picture! It was extremely organic. With Close Quarters, I wrote primarily on the weekends. I was in the midst of a balancing act between my 9-5 and my passion, writing. I mapped out the entire story before penning a word. With You Might Just Get Burned, I wrote whenever I could. Daytime, nighttime and in-between time.  I juggled a lot more when trying to complete this novel. It was more of a hybrid—part organic, part mapped. For all of my novels, I’ll either write in my office, or sometimes I need some white noise, so I’ll take my laptop, sit on the couch and write away with the TV on or music playing. Each process has had its own identity and each book has been a labor of love. I am looking forward to completing my next book…a sequel to Recipe for Love! #StayTuned
